REDBASE is excited to introduce five outstanding artists that will be joining us at Art Jakarta 2024. This year’s event promises to be a vibrant gathering of art lovers and enthusiasts, and we are thrilled to showcase a range of captivating works from these talented individuals.
I Wayan Upadana (Indonesia) is known for his exploration of contemporary Indonesian culture, often delving into the intersections of tradition and modernity, offering a thought-provoking narrative that challenges the viewer.
Joko Avianto (Indonesia), a Bandung-based artist, critically examines the tension between organic fluidity and structural strength. His sculptures, made from bamboo—a sustainable, lightweight material—highlight the urgency of environmental consciousness and humanity’s relationship with nature.
Cheolyu Kim (South Korea) brings a unique Korean perspective, reflecting the interplay between traditional motifs and contemporary styles, creating a dialogue between past and present.
He Sen (China) draws inspiration from traditional Chinese painting, integrating elements like bamboo and calligraphy to evoke themes of nobility and perseverance. His innovative style combines thick color applications with traditional brushwork, creating a visually striking blend of old and new.
Chen Gelin (China) is deeply influenced by Chinese ethnic traditions, featuring weaving techniques of the Hakka people and brocade patterns of the Zhuang ethnic group. Using materials like steel nails and nylon, he creates unique visual effects that explore themes of formal order, light, and speed.
You can find these remarkable artworks only at Booth C2, JIEXPO Kemayoran, from October 4-6, 2024. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with the dynamic art community and experience the creativity of these talented artists.
