Redbase Sydney + Indonesia represents emerging and established contemporary artists both locally and from the Asia- Pacific. Together the spaces display complex exhibitions and programs and participate in local and international art fairs.
Redbase Art Gallery Sydney was established in Sydney in 2021 and has a strong focus on international contemporary art, especially in Southeast Asia. At Redbase, we are aiming to create a unique platform for the exchange of ideas and cultures between Australian and international contemporary art.
Redbase Foundation was founded by director Nancy Nan in 2014 and is one of the most prominent art spaces for Indonesian contemporary art. Redbase has intensive art programs and exhibitions. One of our permanent projects, Artist residencies have helped establish many Indonesian and international artists professionally. Art Education and Young artist Awards are some other significant contributions to the local communities.
For over 25 years, Nancy Nan has been directing art galleries in Singapore, New York, Indonesia, China and currently Sydney in Asian contemporary art. She has worked with many international art museums including MoMA, Guggenheim, and the Museum of Arts and Design in New York.
