Redbase Sydney is pleased to highlight the recent achievements of artist Zoe Li, who previously presented her solo exhibition in Redbase in June 2025. Earlier this month, Zoe’s “Comb Machine” series was exhibited at the Bankstown Arts Centre in Sydney, alongside works by fellow contemporary artists Chloe McFadden and Wendy Yu. The exhibition was curated by Deborah Turnbull Tillman and Rachael Kiang, with photographic documentation by Dean Qiulin Li.

Zoe Jiji’s “Comb Machine” series represents a refined and thoughtful continuation of her investigation into movement, repetition, and the quiet presence of everyday gestures. Transforming the simple act of combing into a mechanical and poetic installation, her work articulates broader themes of memory, care, and the subtle rhythms embedded within domestic life. The series has drawn attention for its sensitive materiality and its ability to reframe familiar objects within a conceptual, time-based framework.
At Redbase Sydney, we take pride in supporting practices that demonstrate both technical clarity and conceptual depth. Zoe’s recent presentation at a prominent community arts institution reflects the strength of her evolving practice and her growing contribution to contemporary art in Australia.
